How to send RTMP into BELABOX

We’re going to show you how to send an RTMP feed into BELABOX to allow for WiFi streaming on devices such as DJI Osmo Action 4, DJI Pocket 3, GoPro and even Prism to allow for bonded connections!

Before starting: You must have a WiFi adapter connected to your BELABOX that is not currently in use. If you do not have one, we recommend the TP-Link T2U or T3U Nano. For DJI cameras, you must have the DJI Mimo app. For GoPros you must have the GoPro Quik app.

First of all, you need to access your BELABOX control page (belaUI) – either using BELABOX Cloud url or belabox.local if you are connected direct to the device.

Press/Click on your WiFI adapter

And then press “Hotspot mode”

Press OK on this

The network name and password will be populated. You can change these!

You will see a new connection at the top, with a greyed out box. IMPORTANT! Make a note of the IP address, in this example that is 10.42.0.1

DJI SPECIFIC

Next, open up the DJI Mimo app on your phone and connect to your camera by pressing the middle icon at the bottom

Press “Connect”

From here, you want to press on “LIVESTREAM” on the top left

Select “RTMP” and then “Start Livestream Settings

Wait for this process to complete. It can take up to 90 seconds.

Next, click on “Select Network” and then select the BELABOX hotspot that we created earlier. In this example it is “BELABOX_1119“. Once you press this, it will ask for the password, input the password from the BELABOX Hotspot set up earlier on.

Earlier, we said to make a note of this. Now is the time it is needed

Enter the RTMP url as rtmp://IPADDRESS:1935/publish/live – in our example that is rtmp://10.42.0.1:1935/publish/live

Full DJI settings that we use are above

Once you have done that, press “Start Livestream

Your camera should then show that it is Live

Next we need to go back to the BELABOX Control panel

Under “Encoder settings” change whatever you have in the first box (our example is rk3588/h265_hdmi) to

One of these. The frame rate must match what your camera is set to (25fps, 30fps, 50fps or 60fps).

Once you have done this, press Start and you should see something similar to the above. Important thing to check will be “RTMP ingest – live”

You will then see the feed in your OBS!
